From Biarritz, you ride along some of the most beautiful beaches on the Atlantic coast and cross Basque villages nestled around their pelota court. During this sporty stage, the arrival at the bay of St-Jean-de-Luz with the Rhune as sentinel is a great moment of your Vélodyssée!

! Be careful, there are few cycle paths on this stage.

Itinerary

Mostly on shared roads and with marked relief.

Be careful when crossing Biarritz (some busy streets are not secured), Bidart (no security), St-Jean-de-Luz and the D810 in Guéthary (cycle lanes but heavy traffic limited to 50 km/h). Be careful with children.

In summer, access to the pedestrian city center is strongly discouraged with your bike, due to too many people.

Development of cycle paths in progress. Since 2017: a first section of 2 km of greenway has now been built between Biarritz and Bidart, directly serving 3 campsites, 2 campervan areas and 5 beaches.

Calm atmosphere between Biarritz and Bidart, then from Guéthary to Ste Barbe, where the route also crosses residential areas with beautiful architecture and superb viewpoints.
